Translation — Tafsir

Key Words and Their Meanings:

(La tudrikuhu al-absar): The eyes cannot comprehend or encompass Him. "Idrak" here means full comprehension, total encompassment, or complete perception—not merely seeing.
(Wa huwa yudriku al-absar): He fully comprehends and encompasses all sights and visions—nothing escapes His knowledge or perception.
(Al-Latif): The Most Subtle, the Kind, the Gentle—the One who knows the finest details of all things and is gracious to His servants in ways they cannot perceive.
(Al-Khabir): The All-Aware, the All-Knowing—the One who knows the innermost realities and hidden truths of everything.

The Tafsir (Explanation):

This magnificent verse reveals a profound truth about Allah, the Creator of all that exists. The human eye, no matter how sharp or powerful, cannot fully perceive or encompass Allah in this worldly life. He is beyond the limitations of physical sight, space, and time—He is not a body, nor is He confined to any direction or form. However, this does not mean that believers will never see Him; rather, in the Hereafter, Allah will bless His righteous servants with the honor of seeing Him, but even then, their vision will not fully encompass His infinite majesty—they will see Him as He wills, without complete comprehension of His essence.

Yet, while our eyes cannot reach Him, His perfect knowledge and perception reach everything—including our very eyes. He sees every glance, every look, every tear, and every gaze, whether hidden or apparent. Nothing escapes His sight, not even the smallest movement of an eyelid or the faintest flicker of thought behind a pupil. He knows what our eyes have witnessed, what they have longed for, and what they have turned away from.

And He is Al-Latif—the One who is infinitely subtle and kind. He knows the finest, most delicate details of His creation and His servants' affairs. He brings His mercy to His servants in ways so subtle and gentle that they often do not realize it until later. He is Al-Khabir—the All-Aware, who knows the hidden depths of every heart, the secrets of every soul, and the true reality of every matter.

This verse fills the believer's heart with awe and love. Awe, because our Creator is beyond our full comprehension—He is greater, more majestic, and more perfect than anything our minds can imagine. And love, because this same incomprehensible Being is Al-Latif, the Gentle One who cares for us with infinite kindness, and Al-Khabir, who knows our every need, our every struggle, and our every silent prayer.

Dear reader, reflect on this: the One who cannot be seen by your eyes in this world, sees you completely. He knows when you smile, when you weep, when you struggle in the darkness of the night, and when you raise your hands in supplication. He is closer to you than your own jugular vein, and His knowledge encompasses every detail of your existence. So, turn to Him with confidence, for the One who is Al-Latif and Al-Khabir will never abandon you. He knows exactly what you need, and He will grant it to you in the most beautiful and subtle of ways—often when you least expect it, but exactly when you need it most.

📜 Verse 101-105 — Al-An'am

[He is] Originator of the heavens and the earth. How could He have a son when He does not have a companion and He created all things? And He is, of all things, Knowing.
That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things.
Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted.
There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord. So whoever will see does so for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever is blind [does harm] against it. And [say], "I am not a guardian over you."
And thus do We diversify the verses so the disbelievers will say, "You have studied," and so We may make the Qur'an clear for a people who know.
