Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Jannāt (جَنَّاتٍ): Gardens of Paradise, the eternal abodes of bliss and delight that Allah has prepared for His righteous servants.
- Yatasā'alūn (يَتَسَاءَلُونَ): They ask one another, engaging in mutual conversation and inquiry.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse paints a serene and joyful picture of the believers on the Day of Judgment. After mentioning that every soul is held in pledge for its deeds—except the people of the right hand, the sincere believers who freed themselves through obedience and faith—Allah reveals their ultimate reward: they will be in magnificent gardens, the likes of which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart can imagine. In these gardens, they will turn to one another and ask questions, engaging in pleasant and meaningful dialogue. This questioning is not out of worry or distress, but rather a reflection of their peace, security, and contentment. They will ask about the fate of the criminals—those who wronged themselves by rejecting faith and committing sins—and about what led those sinners into the blazing Fire. This scene highlights the contrast between the tranquility of the believers and the regret of the wrongdoers, serving as a powerful reminder of the consequences of one's choices in this worldly life.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Dear reader, imagine a moment when all your struggles, your prayers, your patience, and your sacrifices culminate in an eternal garden where you sit with your loved ones in faith, conversing in complete peace—no fear, no sadness, no regret. That is the promise of Allah to those who purify their hearts and actions for Him. The believers in Paradise do not merely exist; they enjoy the sweetness of companionship and dialogue, a blessing that reflects the beauty of their relationships built on faith in this world. This verse invites you to strive for that eternal happiness by holding firmly to the rope of Allah, performing your prayers, giving charity, and avoiding falsehood. Every good deed you do today is a seed for a garden you will enjoy forever. Let this hope fill your heart and motivate your steps toward righteousness, for Allah's mercy is vast, and His reward is beyond measure.
