Surah At-Tin — Verse 1

Tafsir (Explanation):

Allah begins this noble surah with an oath by two blessed fruits: the fig and the olive. The fig is a sweet, nourishing fruit, while the olive is a source of abundant goodness, from which oil is pressed for food, light, and healing. These two fruits also point to the lands where they grow—particularly the region of Palestine, a land blessed by Allah, where Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was sent with clear signs and miracles.

By swearing by these creations, Allah draws our attention to the wonders of His creation and the blessings He has placed in nature for humanity. The oath is not merely about the fruits themselves, but about the profound lessons they carry: from a tiny seed, Allah brings forth a tree that provides sustenance, healing, and light.
