📜

Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Nasr Allah (نَصْرُ اللهِ): The divine help and victory granted by Allah to His Messenger and His religion.
  • Al-Fath (الْفَتْحُ): The conquest, specifically the conquest of Mecca (Fath Makkah), which marked the decisive triumph of Islam over polytheism in the Arabian Peninsula.

Explanation of the Verse:

When Allah’s help arrives for you, O Messenger, and He grants you victory over those who opposed you and fought against you—and when the great conquest takes place, which is the opening of Mecca and the surrounding regions of Hijaz and much of Yemen—this marks the moment when the religion of Allah becomes manifest and His word rises supreme. This verse signals the near completion of the prophetic mission and the fulfillment of Allah’s promise to His Messenger that truth would prevail over falsehood, and that the light of guidance would illuminate every corner of the land.

This is not merely a historical announcement; it is a profound lesson for every believer. When Allah’s help comes, it is not by human might or strategy alone, but by His divine will and decree. The conquest of Mecca was not a military triumph of force, but a victory of mercy, forgiveness, and profound wisdom—when the Prophet ﷺ entered the city humbly, his head lowered in gratitude to his Lord, and forgave those who had persecuted him for decades. This teaches us that true victory lies not in domination, but in the spread of justice, compassion, and the worship of the One True God.

Dear believer, reflect on this verse and let it fill your heart with certainty: Allah never abandons those who strive in His cause. Just as He aided His Messenger and granted him the conquest, He will aid His sincere servants in every time and place. The promise of Allah is true, and His help is near for those who remain patient, steadfast, and devoted to His path. So hold firm to your faith, trust in Allah’s plan, and know that every difficulty is followed by relief, and every trial is followed by victory—if you remain sincere and unwavering.

And you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes,
3فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَاسْتَغْفِرْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّابًا
