Explanation of the Verse:
After mentioning the painful fate of the disbelievers, Allah turns to address His believing servants with a message of pure joy. He commands His Prophet ﷺ to deliver glad tidings to those who have true faith in their hearts and back it up with righteous deeds—not just words, but actions that reflect sincerity and obedience to Allah. For them, Allah has prepared magnificent gardens beneath which rivers flow, watering the trees and palaces, creating a scene of unparalleled beauty and tranquility.
When the inhabitants of Paradise are served fruits, they will marvel at their familiarity. They will say, "This is what we were given before," because the fruits resemble those of the worldly life in appearance and name. Yet, when they taste them, they discover a completely new flavor and delight—far beyond anything they ever experienced. This is a sign of Allah’s generosity: He presents them with what their souls recognize, so they feel at home, while the reality surpasses all expectations.
In these gardens, they will also have pure spouses—cleansed from every form of impurity, whether physical (like bodily wastes) or moral (like bad character, deceit, or jealousy). These spouses are free from all defects, bringing complete peace and joy to their partners.
And the greatest blessing of all: they will abide therein forever. No death, no departure, no end. Unlike the fleeting pleasures of this world, which fade and vanish, the bliss of Paradise is eternal and ever-renewing. This is the ultimate success—a life of endless happiness in the presence of Allah’s mercy.
A Da‘wah Reflection:
Dear reader, pause and reflect on this verse. Allah is not merely describing a reward; He is inviting you to imagine a life without sorrow, without pain, without endings. Every time you struggle in this world—when you face hardship, when your heart aches, when you feel the weight of your sins—know that Allah has prepared something far greater for those who believe and do good. The key is simple: faith in your heart and righteousness in your actions. You don’t need to be perfect; you need to be sincere. Take one step toward Allah today—pray your five daily prayers, give charity, speak kindly, or seek knowledge—and let this verse be your motivation. Paradise is real, its rivers are flowing, and its doors are open for you. Will you not answer the call of your Lord, who loves you and wants nothing but your eternal happiness?
