Tafsir (Explanation):
O Prophet Muhammad, know that you are not alone in this mission. Before you, We sent many messengers to their own peoples—each one came with clear signs, miracles, and undeniable proofs to guide their communities to the worship of Allah alone. They called their people to the light of monotheism and warned them against the darkness of polytheism and sin.
Yet, despite these clear evidences, most of those nations rejected the truth and persisted in their wrongdoing. They mocked the messengers and refused to believe. So We took vengeance upon those who committed crimes—We destroyed them with a painful punishment, as a just recompense for their arrogance and stubbornness. Their power, wealth, and numbers could not protect them from Our decree.
But for the believers who followed the messengers with sincerity and patience, We granted them victory and salvation. We saved them from the destruction that befell the wrongdoers, and We made them triumphant in this world and the Hereafter. This is not merely a favor—it is a binding promise that We have made upon Ourselves: that the believers will always be supported, and that truth will ultimately prevail over falsehood.
This verse carries a powerful lesson for you, O believer: the path of the messengers is one of patience and trust in Allah. Even when the world seems to side with the oppressors, remember that Allah's promise to the believers is certain. He never abandons those who put their faith in Him. The history of the previous nations is a living testimony that falsehood, no matter how strong it appears, is always doomed to perish, while the banner of faith is raised high by the hand of Allah Himself.
So take heart, and let this verse strengthen your conviction. Your Lord, who has never broken His promise, is with you. He sees your struggles, hears your prayers, and has already written victory for His sincere servants. Let this be a source of hope and courage—for the help of Allah is near, and His promise is true.
