Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Arsala al-riyāh – He sent the winds (dispatched them by His command).
- Faturīru saḥāban – They stir up and move clouds.
- Baladin mayyit – A dead land, barren with no vegetation.
- Fa'aḥyaynā – We brought it to life (caused plants to grow).
- Al-nushūr – The resurrection (bringing the dead forth from their graves).
Tafsir (Explanation):
Allah — alone — is the One Who sends the winds as a mercy from Him. These winds move and gather clouds, lifting them from one place to another. Then Allah drives those clouds toward a land that is dry and lifeless, with no vegetation. He sends down rain from them, and by that water, He revives the earth after its death — it becomes green and fertile, bursting with plants and life.
This vivid scene is not merely a natural phenomenon; it is a sign and a proof. Just as Allah brings the dead earth to life with rain, He will bring the dead out of their graves on the Day of Resurrection. The same Power that revives barren land is fully capable of reviving bones and souls. So reflect, O servant of Allah: the One who gives life to the earth after its death is the One who will give life to you after your death.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Look at the world around you — the gentle breeze, the heavy clouds, the falling rain, the greening earth. Every spring that follows a barren winter is a living promise from your Lord. He does not create these signs to amuse you, but to awaken your heart. If you can trust that rain will come and the earth will bloom again, then trust even more that your Creator will bring you back to Him. The resurrection is not a distant myth; it is as certain as the morning after the night, as certain as the plant breaking through the soil. So prepare for that Day — not with fear alone, but with hope and good deeds. For the same Allah who revives the dead earth is the Most Merciful, and He has promised Paradise to those who believe and do right. Let every drop of rain remind you of His mercy, and every green field remind you of His promise.
