Surah Al-Anfal — Verse 62

• Yakhda‘ūka (يخدعوك): To deceive, trick, or plot against you with cunning and treachery.
• Ḥasbuka (حسبك): Sufficient for you; enough to protect and support you.
• Ayyadaka (أيّدك): Strengthened you, reinforced you, and gave you firm support.

Tafsir (Explanation):

If those with whom you have made a treaty of peace intend only to deceive you—showing a desire for reconciliation while secretly preparing to strike against you—then know, O Prophet, that Allah alone is completely sufficient for you. He will protect you from their schemes and thwart their treachery, for no plot can succeed against the One who controls all affairs.

It is Allah who has already demonstrated His power on your behalf: He strengthened you with His divine victory—sending angels to fight alongside you at Badr—and He reinforced you with the believers, the Muhājirūn and the Anṣār, whose hearts He united after they had been divided. No amount of wealth in the entire world could have brought their hearts together, but Allah joined them through faith, making them brothers bound by love and mutual support. Indeed, He is Almighty in His dominion, Wise in His decree and perfect in His planning.

A Da‘wah Reflection:

This verse carries a profound message of hope and certainty for every believer: when you stand firm upon the truth, Allah Himself becomes your protector and your sufficiency. The plots of enemies—no matter how clever or well-orchestrated—are but weak shadows before the might of Allah. Just as He supported His Prophet with unseen armies and loyal companions, He will never abandon those who sincerely strive in His cause. So place your trust in Him, for whoever relies upon Allah, He is truly sufficient for them. And remember: unity among believers is a divine blessing that no worldly wealth can purchase—so cherish your brothers and sisters in faith, for their love is a gift from the Most Merciful.
