Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Rasulun min Allah — a Messenger sent by Allah.
- Yatlu — recites or reads aloud.
- Suhufan — written pages or scriptures.
- Mutahharah — purified, cleansed from any falsehood, error, or impurity.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse describes the clear proof and decisive evidence that Allah sent to humanity. That proof is a Messenger from Allah — Muhammad (peace be upon him) — who was sent to recite purified scriptures. These scriptures are the Qur'an, preserved in heavenly tablets and revealed to him, free from any falsehood, contradiction, or corruption. The word "purified" means they are cleansed from every lie, every error, and every form of distortion, and they are so pure that only those who are themselves purified — the angels and the righteous — may touch them in their original heavenly form.
The Messenger (peace be upon him) recited the contents of these scriptures from his heart, not from a written copy, for he was an unlettered man who could neither read nor write. This very fact is among the greatest miracles: an illiterate man from an unlettered nation brought forth a book of such eloquence, wisdom, and guidance that all of humanity combined cannot produce its like. He recited the Qur'an as it was revealed, conveying its meanings, laws, and truths to all of mankind.
This verse calls us to reflect on the greatness of this divine message. The Qur'an is not the words of a human being, nor is it a book that has been tampered with or altered over time. It is a purified revelation, protected by Allah Himself from any corruption. Every letter of it is a light, every verse is a mercy, and every command is a path to success in this life and the Hereafter.
Dear reader, when you open the Qur'an, know that you are holding something profoundly sacred — a direct communication from your Creator. Approach it with a pure heart and a sincere intention, and you will find in it the answers to your deepest questions, the cure for your spiritual ailments, and the guidance that leads you to eternal happiness. This purified scripture is Allah's greatest gift to humanity, and through His Messenger, He has made it accessible to you. Will you not turn to it and let it transform your life?
