وَالْفَجْرِ ۝١
📖 Translation Verse 1
By the dawn
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ ۝٢
📖 Translation Verse 2
And [by] ten nights
وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ ۝٣
📖 Translation Verse 3
And [by] the even [number] and the odd
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ ۝٤
📖 Translation Verse 4
And [by] the night when it passes,
هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ ۝٥
📖 Translation Verse 5
Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception?
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ۝٦
📖 Translation Verse 6
Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad -
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ ۝٧
📖 Translation Verse 7
[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars,
الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ ۝٨
📖 Translation Verse 8
The likes of whom had never been created in the land?
وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ ۝٩
📖 Translation Verse 9
And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ ۝١٠
📖 Translation Verse 10
And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? -
الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ ۝١١
📖 Translation Verse 11
[All of] whom oppressed within the lands
فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ ۝١٢
📖 Translation Verse 12
And increased therein the corruption.
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ ۝١٣
📖 Translation Verse 13
So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ ۝١٤
📖 Translation Verse 14
Indeed, your Lord is in observation.
فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ ۝١٥
📖 Translation Verse 15
And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."
وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ ۝١٦
📖 Translation Verse 16
But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."
كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ ۝١٧
📖 Translation Verse 17
No! But you do not honor the orphan
وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ ۝١٨
📖 Translation Verse 18
And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.
وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا ۝١٩
📖 Translation Verse 19
And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,
وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا ۝٢٠
📖 Translation Verse 20
And you love wealth with immense love.
كَلَّا إِذَا دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا ۝٢١
📖 Translation Verse 21
No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed -
وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا ۝٢٢
📖 Translation Verse 22
And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,
وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ ۝٢٣
📖 Translation Verse 23
And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?
يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي ۝٢٤
📖 Translation Verse 24
He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ ۝٢٥
📖 Translation Verse 25
So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,
وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ ۝٢٦
📖 Translation Verse 26
And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].
يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ۝٢٧
📖 Translation Verse 27
[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,
ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً ۝٢٨
📖 Translation Verse 28
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],
فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي ۝٢٩
📖 Translation Verse 29
And enter among My [righteous] servants
وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي ۝٣٠
📖 Translation Verse 30
And enter My Paradise."
