Surah Al-Fajr — Verse 27

Explanation of the Verse:

This is a magnificent, heartwarming address from Allah to the believing soul at the moment of death and on the Day of Resurrection. When the believer has lived a life of faith, obedience, and sincere devotion, Allah calls out to that soul with words of honour and love: "O you tranquil soul!"

The "tranquil soul" is the one that has found complete peace and certainty in Allah. It is the soul that has surrendered fully to its Lord, that remembers Him constantly, and that trusts in His promises without any doubt or fear. It is secure in the knowledge of Allah's mercy, justice, and generosity. This soul does not waver in times of hardship, nor does it become arrogant in times of ease; rather, it remains steadfast, content, and deeply connected to its Creator.

This verse is a beautiful reminder that the ultimate goal of every believer is to reach this state of inner peace—a peace that comes from true faith, sincere worship, and unwavering trust in Allah. It is the peace of a heart that knows its Lord, that loves Him, and that is certain of meeting Him.

So, turn to your Lord today, seek His forgiveness, and fill your heart with His remembrance. For indeed, it is in the remembrance of Allah that hearts find true rest (Qur'an 13:28). Strive to be among those who are called to enter Paradise in peace, honoured by their Lord, and welcomed into the company of the righteous. May Allah make us all among the people of the tranquil soul.
