Word Meanings:

  • Al-Mirṣād (بِالْمِرْصَادِ): A place of observation or ambush; it means that Allah is ever-watchful, lying in wait to seize those who transgress. It conveys the idea of perfect surveillance and inevitable accountability.

Explanation of the Verse:

O Messenger, your Lord is indeed ever-watchful over all of creation. He observes every deed, word, and thought—nothing escapes His knowledge, whether hidden or apparent. He gives the wrongdoers respite, but never neglects them. When His decree comes, He seizes them with the grip of the Mighty, the All-Powerful. For the righteous, His watchfulness is a source of comfort and hope, as He sees their efforts and rewards them with Paradise. For the wicked, it is a warning that their actions are recorded and will be met with justice—either in this world or in the Hereafter.

This verse instills in the believer a profound sense of accountability. It reminds us that we are never alone or unseen; our Lord is always aware of our state. He sees the patient one in his trials, the sincere one in his worship, and the repentant one in his tears. He also sees the oppressor in his arrogance and the sinner in his concealment. Therefore, let every soul reflect: if you do good, know that your Lord is watching to honor you; and if you err, know that He is watching to hold you to account—unless you hasten to His mercy through sincere repentance.

Da'wah Reflection:

This verse is a call to live a life of mindfulness and excellence. When you realize that your Lord is at the watch, your heart becomes alive with hope and reverence. Hope, because His watchfulness means your smallest good deed is never lost; reverence, because His watchfulness means no sin is ever hidden. So, dear reader, let this truth transform your daily life—pray as if you see Him, and know that even if you do not see Him, He sees you. This is the path to true success and tranquility in this world and the next.

📜 Verse 12-16 — Al-Fajr

And increased therein the corruption.
So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.
Indeed, your Lord is in observation.
And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."
But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."
