Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Khalaqa – Created and brought into existence from nothing.

- Istawā ‘alā al-‘Arsh – Rose above and ascended upon the Throne in a manner that befits His majesty and greatness, without any resemblance to His creation.
- Yudabbir al-Amr – He manages, governs, and orchestrates all affairs of the universe.
- Shafī‘ – Intercessor; one who pleads on behalf of another.
- Tadhakkarūn – You reflect, take heed, and draw lessons.
Tafsir (Explanation):
O people, your Lord is Allah alone—the One who created the heavens with their immense vastness and the earth with its expansive breadth in six divine periods. Then He ascended upon the Throne in a manner that perfectly suits His majesty, far beyond human comprehension or comparison. He alone manages every affair: He sustains His creation, decrees life and death, provides for all, and will bring everyone to account on the Day of Judgment.
How then can anyone wonder at Allah sending a messenger from among themselves? He is the Sovereign who does as He wills, and no one can intercede with Him on behalf of another—not the prophets, not the angels, not the righteous—except after He grants permission and is pleased with the intercessor. This is a direct refutation of those who claim that idols or other deities can intercede for them; all intercession belongs to Allah alone, and none can approach Him without His leave.
This Allah, described with these perfect attributes, is your true Lord. So worship Him alone, devote your worship sincerely to Him, and do not associate any partner with Him. Will you not then reflect upon these clear proofs and overwhelming evidences? Will you not let your hearts awaken to the truth, especially when the signs of His oneness and power are so evident all around you?
Da‘wah Reflection:
This verse is a profound call to purify your heart and direct it toward the One who truly deserves your devotion. When you realize that the Creator of the heavens and the earth—the One who manages every detail of your life, from your heartbeat to the rising of the sun—is your Lord, how can your heart not find peace in submitting to Him? The doors of intercession are open, but only through His permission, and the greatest intercession on the Day of Judgment will be for those who lived in sincere submission to Him. So let this verse be a turning point: reflect on His greatness, embrace His oneness, and let your worship be purely for Him. The One who created you, sustains you, and will judge you with perfect justice and mercy is worthy of all your love, hope, and devotion. Will you not then remember?
