- "Najjayna" (نجينا): We saved/delivered — indicating a rescue from imminent destruction.
- "Rahmah" (رحمة): Mercy — a special, unearned grace from Allah that encompasses His believing servants.

Explanation of the Verse:
When Our command to destroy the people of 'Ad was issued and the moment of their punishment arrived, Allah Almighty saved His Prophet Hud (peace be upon him) and those who believed in him from that devastating fate. This salvation was not a result of their own merit or power, but purely through the mercy and favour of Allah — a mercy that embraced them because of their sincere faith and steadfastness upon the truth. They were rescued from a severe and overwhelming punishment that struck their disbelieving people, a punishment so intense that it left no trace of them except their empty dwellings. This deliverance was twofold: they were saved from the torment of this world, and — by virtue of their faith — they were also saved from the harsh punishment of the Hereafter, attaining instead eternal bliss in the presence of their Lord.
A Da'wah Reflection:
This verse carries a profound and heart-warming message for every believer: Allah's mercy is the ultimate shield against every hardship. When the storms of life rage and the trials of this world intensify, the believer who holds fast to faith and righteousness is never abandoned. Just as Allah rescued Hud and his companions from the visible punishment of this world, He promises to rescue His sincere servants from every form of distress — whether seen or unseen, in this life or the next. The key that unlocks this divine protection is not wealth, status, or power, but sincere faith accompanied by righteous action. So hold firm to your faith, dear reader, and know that the mercy of Allah is greater than any trial you may face. When you stand with Allah, He stands with you — and no force in the universe can overcome the one whom Allah has taken under His protection.
