Key Words and Meanings:

  • Al-Mā’ (الماء): Here, it refers to the seminal fluid (nutfah) from which human beings are created.
  • Bashar (بشر): Human being.
  • Nasab (نسب): Lineage through male descendants—kinship by blood.
  • Sihr (صهر): Marriage ties—kinship through in-law relationships.
  • Qadīr (قدير): All-Powerful, capable of doing everything without any limitation.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse draws our attention to one of the most profound signs of Allah’s creative power: the origin of human life. Allah, the Exalted, says that He created a human being from a humble drop of fluid—the seminal fluid of a man and a woman. From this insignificant beginning, He brought forth an entire human being, with all its complexity, beauty, and life.

Then, from this creation, Allah established two types of relationships that bind people together: nasab (blood lineage) and sihr (marriage ties). Through nasab, children are connected to their fathers and ancestors, forming families and tribes. Through sihr, two families become united through marriage, creating bonds of affection, cooperation, and mutual support. These relationships are not random; they are divinely ordained systems that build societies, preserve honor, and spread mercy among people.

The verse concludes with a powerful reminder: "And your Lord is ever All-Powerful." This phrase is not limited to the past—it is a continuous and eternal attribute. Allah’s power was, is, and will always be absolute. He who created a human from a drop of water can do anything He wills. He can create, destroy, resurrect, and re-create. Nothing is impossible for Him.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, pause and reflect on this miracle. You were once a tiny drop, invisible to the naked eye, yet Allah shaped you into a perfect human being with eyes, ears, a heart, and a mind. He gave you parents, siblings, and relatives—a network of love and support. He even brought strangers into your life through marriage, turning them into family. Is this not the work of a Wise and Powerful Creator?

This verse invites you to recognize Allah’s greatness in your very own existence. If He could create you from such a humble beginning, then trust Him in all your affairs. He is Qadīr—He can answer your prayers, relieve your distress, and grant you what you need. Let this knowledge fill your heart with hope and your life with gratitude. Turn to Him, for He is the One who created you, honored you, and continues to sustain you every moment. Indeed, your Lord is All-Powerful over all things.

📜 Verse 52-56 — Al-Furqan

So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with the Qur'an a great striving.
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.
And it is He who has created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].
But they worship rather than Allah that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
