Tafsir (Explanation):

In this blessed verse, Allah continues His divine instructions to His Prophet Musa (peace be upon him), preparing him for the greatest mission of his life — confronting the tyrant Pharaoh. After the miracle of the staff transforming into a living serpent, Allah now commands Musa to perform a second miracle:

"Place your hand into the opening of your garment, and when you draw it out, it will appear shining white — radiant like snow or the light of the sun — with no trace of illness, leprosy, or any defect. This whiteness was not a disease; it was a luminous, supernatural light that dazzled the eyes of all who beheld it."

Then Allah says: "And draw your hand close to you to calm your fear." When Musa witnessed the extraordinary transformation of his hand into a blazing light, he naturally felt awe and trepidation. So Allah taught him to place his hand under his armpit or against his chest, and by doing so, his fear would subside and his hand would return to its natural state. This was a profound lesson: that the One who grants these miracles is also the One who grants peace and tranquility to the hearts of His chosen messengers.

Allah then declares: "These are two clear proofs from your Lord — the staff turning into a serpent and the radiant hand — sent to Pharaoh and his chiefs." Indeed, these were not mere tricks or illusions; they were undeniable, overwhelming evidences of Allah's power and the truthfulness of Musa's prophethood. They were sufficient to convince any fair-minded person, yet Pharaoh and his inner circle were a people who had transgressed all bounds — they had rebelled against their Creator, rejected His signs, and persisted in their arrogance and corruption.

A Da'wah Reflection:

Dear reader, ponder deeply upon this scene. Allah equipped His servant Musa with clear, tangible proofs — not because Allah needed to prove Himself, but out of His immense mercy and justice, so that no one on the Day of Judgment could claim ignorance. Allah never leaves humanity without guidance or without evidence. Just as He sent Musa with two brilliant miracles, He has sent us the greatest and most enduring miracle of all: the Qur'an — a living, eternal proof that speaks to every generation and every heart that is open to the truth.

The story of Musa teaches us that when Allah chooses someone for His mission, He equips them with everything they need — courage, miracles, and divine support. And when fear creeps into the heart, Allah provides the remedy: drawing closer to Him. Just as Musa was told to draw his hand close to his side to calm his fear, we too are invited to draw ourselves close to Allah through prayer, remembrance, and trust in His plan. There is no fear that cannot be calmed by the remembrance of Allah, and no darkness that cannot be illuminated by His light.

Let this verse inspire you to reflect: If Allah could transform a simple staff into a living serpent and an ordinary hand into a radiant light, then surely He can transform your life, your circumstances, and your heart. No matter how difficult your mission or how powerful your opponents may seem, Allah's support is greater. Open your heart to His signs, and you will find that His proofs are all around you — in the Qur'an, in the universe, and in the depths of your own soul.

📜 Verse 30-34 — Al-Qasas

But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds."
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, approach and fear not. Indeed, you are of the secure.
Insert your hand into the opening of your garment; it will come out white, without disease. And draw in your arm close to you [as prevention] from fear, for those are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his establishment. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."
He said, "My Lord, indeed, I killed from among them someone, and I fear they will kill me.
And my brother Aaron is more fluent than me in tongue, so send him with me as support, verifying me. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me."
