Key Words and Their Meanings:

  • "Yarā" (وَيَرَى) – Here it means "to know" or "to perceive with certainty," not merely to see with the eyes.
  • "Alladhīna ūtū al-ʿilm" (الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ) – Those who have been granted knowledge and understanding, referring to the sincere scholars among the Prophet's companions and the learned believers from the People of the Book who recognized the truth.
  • "Al-ʿAzīz" (الْعَزِيزِ) – The Almighty, the Invincible, the One who cannot be overcome or resisted.
  • "Al-Ḥamīd" (الْحَمِيدِ) – The Praiseworthy, the One who is deserving of all praise in His words, deeds, and commands.

Explanation of the Verse:

This noble verse highlights a profound distinction between two types of people: those who are blinded by arrogance and falsehood, and those who have been blessed with true knowledge and insight. The people of knowledge — whether they be the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) or the sincere scholars among the People of the Book who embraced Islam — clearly perceive and affirm that the Qur'an revealed to you, O Prophet, is the absolute truth. There is no doubt or uncertainty in it, for it comes from your Lord, the Creator of all that exists.

This revelation is not merely a collection of words; it is a living guidance that leads humanity to the straight path — the path of Islam — which is the path of the Almighty, the Invincible, who has power over all things and whom no force can challenge or defeat. He is the Praiseworthy in this world and the Hereafter, deserving of all gratitude and worship. His guidance is perfect, His laws are just, and His way leads to eternal success.

The verse serves as a powerful testimony: when people of genuine knowledge encounter the Qur'an, they recognize it as the truth because it aligns with their intellect, their conscience, and the signs of creation around them. Their knowledge does not make them arrogant; rather, it humbles them and leads them to submit to their Lord. This is the hallmark of true knowledge — it brings one closer to Allah and to the path of righteousness.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, reflect on this verse and ask yourself: What is the purpose of knowledge? Is it merely to accumulate facts and degrees, or is it to discover the truth and live by it? The Qur'an invites you to open your heart and mind, for it is the light that illuminates the darkness of ignorance and confusion. It guides you to the path of the Almighty, the Praiseworthy — a path that leads to peace in this life and eternal bliss in the Hereafter.

Let this verse inspire you to seek knowledge with sincerity, to verify the truth, and to submit to it wholeheartedly. For the people of knowledge are not those who merely know, but those who act upon what they know and guide others to the straight path. May Allah make us among those who see the truth clearly and follow it with steadfastness, and may He grant us the wisdom to recognize His signs in the Qur'an and in the universe around us. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, and His path is the path of honor and success.

📜 Verse 4-8 — Saba

That He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. Those will have forgiveness and noble provision.
But those who strive against Our verses [seeking] to cause failure - for them will be a painful punishment of foul nature.
And those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, and it guides to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy.
But those who disbelieve say, "Shall we direct you to a man who will inform you [that] when you have disintegrated in complete disintegration, you will [then] be [recreated] in a new creation?
Has he invented about Allah a lie or is there in him madness?" Rather, they who do not believe in the Hereafter will be in the punishment and [are in] extreme error.
