Surah Saba — Verse 7

Word Meanings:

• مُزِّقْتُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ — "You are torn to pieces completely": meaning your bodies are utterly disintegrated and scattered after death, with every part separated from the other.
• لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ — "You will indeed be in a new creation": meaning you will be brought back to life as new beings, recreated after total annihilation.

Tafsir (Explanation):

The disbelievers, mocking the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his message, said to one another in ridicule: "Shall we point you to a man—meaning Muhammad—who claims that after you die and your bodies are completely torn apart, reduced to dust and scattered in every direction, you will be raised again as a new creation?" They said this out of extreme denial and astonishment, finding it impossible that human beings could be resurrected after such total destruction. Their words were filled with sarcasm and disbelief, as they rejected the very idea of life after death, thinking it absurd that bones and decayed remains could ever be restored to life.

Da‘wah (Invitation to Faith):

This verse reveals the arrogance of those who close their hearts to the truth, mocking what they cannot comprehend. Yet, ponder this: the same God who created you from nothing—from a drop of fluid—is more than capable of recreating you after death. The One who gives life to the barren earth after its death, bringing forth green vegetation from dry soil, is the same Lord who will resurrect you. Do not let your limited understanding become a barrier to faith. The resurrection is not a distant fantasy; it is a certainty that calls you to prepare for a meeting with your Creator. Open your heart to this truth, and you will find peace in knowing that this worldly life is not the end—it is but a fleeting journey toward an eternal reality. Let the mockery of the disbelievers never shake your conviction, for the truth of Allah stands firm, and His promise is true.
