- Sayyiʾāt (سَيِّئَاتُ): Evil deeds, sins, or their consequences.

Explanation of the Verse:
On the Day of Judgment, when the records of deeds are laid open, the disbelievers and mockers will suddenly see the evil consequences of what they earned in this world—their polytheism, sins, and transgressions—made fully visible before their eyes. No longer hidden or deferred, every wrong action they committed will confront them in its true form, and they will realize with horror what they have brought upon themselves.
Moreover, the very punishment they used to scoff at in their worldly life—the threat of resurrection, accountability, and the torment of Hellfire that the messengers warned them about—will now encompass them completely from every direction. There will be no escape, no refuge, and no way out. The thing they treated as a joke will become their inescapable reality.
This verse serves as a profound reminder that nothing we do is hidden from Allah. Every sin, every act of mockery against the truth, and every rejection of divine guidance is being recorded and will be brought to light on the Day when no soul will be wronged in the least. The mockers will find that their laughter in this world turns into weeping in the next, and their arrogance becomes utter humiliation.
A Call to Reflection:
Dear reader, this verse is a wake-up call from the Most Merciful. Allah does not wish to destroy you; rather, He warns you so that you may turn back to Him before that Day arrives—a Day when warnings will no longer benefit. The door of repentance is open now, while you still draw breath. Do not be among those who take the reminders of Allah lightly, for the Hereafter is real, and every soul shall taste what it has earned. Embrace the truth today, and let the fear of that Day lead you to a life of righteousness and peace in this world and the next. Allah’s mercy is vast, and He loves those who return to Him sincerely.
