Surah Al-Jathiyah — Verse 28

Tafsir (Explanation):

On the Day of Resurrection, O Messenger, you will witness a sight of utter awe and submission: every nation, from the first to the last, will be kneeling on their knees before their Lord, humbled and awaiting His decree. This posture—like that of a defendant before a judge—reflects the complete loss of all worldly power and pride. No one will stand tall; no one will argue or boast. All will be brought low, their eyes fixed on what is to come.

Then, each nation will be called to its own book—the comprehensive record of every deed, word, and intention they carried out in the life of this world. The angels who recorded their actions will present these books, and the nations will be addressed with a statement that carries both justice and mercy: "Today you are recompensed for what you used to do." This is not a random punishment or reward, but a precise and fair result of one's own choices—every good deed will find its reward, and every evil deed will find its consequence, with nothing omitted and nothing added.

This scene is a profound reminder that Allah's justice is absolute and His knowledge encompasses all. The books are not written by chance; they are the exact transcripts of our lives, preserved with perfect accuracy. For the believer, this is a source of hope—knowing that no act of kindness, no moment of patience, and no hidden charity will be lost. For the heedless, it is a warning that no sin, however secret, will escape the record.
