- Hoor (حُورٌ): Beautiful, wide-eyed maidens of Paradise, described in the Quran as pure and radiant companions.
- Maqsooraat (مَّقْصُورَاتٌ): Chaste, secluded, and protected—women who are confined to their homes and do not mix with strangers, keeping themselves exclusively for their husbands.
- Al-Khiyaam (الْخِيَامِ): Tents or pavilions—spacious, magnificent dwellings of Paradise, made of hollow pearls and precious materials.
Tafsir (Explanation):
In this verse, Allah describes the companions of Paradise for the righteous believers: they are pure, beautiful maidens who are kept safely within their tents, fully protected and secluded from all but their husbands. They are chaste and modest, never casting their eyes upon anyone other than their spouses, and they remain within their exquisite pavilions—dwellings so grand that they are carved from pearls and adorned with the finest treasures of Paradise.
These women are not merely beautiful in appearance; their character is equally perfect. They are shielded from any gaze, their hearts devoted solely to their husbands, and their joy is reserved exclusively for them. The tents themselves symbolize honor, privacy, and a life of serene contentment—where no disturbance, sorrow, or hardship can ever enter.
This description serves as a profound reminder of the ultimate reward that awaits those who strive in this world to control their desires, guard their chastity, and remain faithful to Allah’s commands. Just as these maidens are kept pure and protected, the believer who lowers his gaze and preserves his modesty in this life will be granted the most beautiful and loyal companions in the Hereafter—a reward beyond imagination, filled with peace, love, and eternal happiness.
Let this verse inspire you, dear reader, to reflect on the fleeting nature of this world and the everlasting bliss that Allah has prepared for His righteous servants. Paradise is not a distant dream; it is a reality awaiting those who purify their hearts, uphold their faith, and live a life of obedience. Strive today, for the tents of Paradise are calling, and their doors are open to all who seek Allah with sincerity.
