Tafsir (Explanation):

Imagine a people crushed under the iron fist of tyranny — their sons slaughtered, their dignity stripped, their lives reduced to servitude. These were the Children of Israel under Pharaoh's reign. Yet, in a stunning turn of divine justice, Allah Almighty willed that the very oppressors would be destroyed, and the oppressed would inherit the land.

Allah says: "And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the easts of the land and its wests, which We had blessed." This refers to the blessed lands of Ash-Sham (Greater Syria) and Egypt — lands flowing with rivers, rich in vegetation, and abundant in fruits. After Pharaoh and his forces were drowned in the sea, Allah granted the Children of Israel dominion over these territories. They who had been humiliated became rulers; they who had been slaves became masters. This was not a random twist of fate — it was the fulfillment of a divine promise.

"And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled upon the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured." Allah's beautiful promise — that He would make the oppressed leaders and inheritors of the earth — was realized. Their patience through decades of persecution, their steadfastness in faith despite unimaginable hardship, and their unwavering trust in Allah's plan became the very key that unlocked their liberation. Patience is never wasted in Allah's ledger; every tear shed under oppression becomes a seed for future triumph.

"And We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people had produced and what they had erected." Their magnificent palaces, their towering structures, their cultivated gardens and trellised vineyards — all of it was laid to waste. The tyrant's legacy crumbled into dust, while the legacy of the believers endured. This is a timeless lesson: worldly power, no matter how imposing, is transient, while the promise of Allah is eternal and ever-fulfilled.

A Call to Reflection:

Dear reader, this verse carries a message of hope that transcends time. No matter how powerful the oppressor may seem, no matter how dark the night of injustice grows — Allah's promise to the patient believers never fails. The story of the Children of Israel is not merely history; it is a living testament that Allah is the ultimate protector of the weak and the destroyer of the arrogant.

Take this to heart: if you are facing trials, if you feel overwhelmed by the forces of falsehood, hold firm to your patience and your faith. The same Allah who turned the tables for the oppressed Children of Israel is alive today, hearing every prayer, witnessing every tear, and recording every act of injustice. His promise stands: "And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors" (Al-Qasas: 5).

So, strengthen your heart with patience, and never doubt that the end belongs to the righteous. For when the dust of this world settles, only the truth remains — and Allah's word is the highest truth of all.

📜 Verse 135-139 — Al-A'raf

But when We removed the punishment from them until a term which they were to reach, then at once they broke their word.
So We took retribution from them, and We drowned them in the sea because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.
And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured. And We destroyed [all] that Pharaoh and his people were producing and what they had been building.
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea; then they came upon a people intent in devotion to [some] idols of theirs. They said, "O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods." He said, "Indeed, you are a people behaving ignorantly.
Indeed, those [worshippers] - destroyed is that in which they are [engaged], and worthless is whatever they were doing."
