Surah Al-Mursalat — Verse 48

Tafsir (Explanation):

This verse describes the stubborn attitude of the disbelievers and polytheists when they are called to the truth. When they are told, "Bow down in prayer to Allah, humble yourselves before Him, and worship Him alone," they refuse and turn away in arrogance. They do not bow, they do not pray, and they do not submit to their Lord. Instead, they persist in their pride and defiance, rejecting the call to righteousness.

This is a profound reminder of the contrast between the believers and the disbelievers. The believers, when they hear the call to prayer and submission, respond with haste and devotion, their hearts filled with love and reverence for Allah. But the disbelievers, when invited to the same act of worship, refuse out of arrogance and stubbornness, as if bowing to their Creator is beneath them.
