Tafsir (Explanation):
This noble verse carries a profound and empowering message for every believer. Allah addresses His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) — and through him, the entire Muslim community — with a timeless principle of balance and perseverance.
When you have completed your worldly affairs, your daily tasks, your work, or even your acts of worship, do not sink into idleness or complacency. Instead, rise with renewed energy and devote yourself to striving in worship and obedience to Allah. The word "fansab" implies an active, earnest exertion — a determined effort to draw closer to your Lord through prayer, supplication, remembrance, seeking knowledge, and doing good deeds.
This verse beautifully teaches us that the believer's life is one of continuous motion — never stagnant, never lazy. When one responsibility ends, another begins. When you finish your work for this world, turn to your worship. When you complete your obligatory prayers, engage in voluntary ones. When you finish helping people, return to your Lord with humility and hope.
The deeper meaning here is one of dedication and constancy: a true servant of Allah does not become weary or slacken in their devotion. Rather, they understand that every moment of free time is an opportunity to invest in their eternal success. This is a call to make your entire life a journey of worship — where rest itself becomes a means to strengthen yourself for further obedience, and where every completed task becomes a stepping stone to the next act of righteousness.
So, dear believer, let this verse inspire you: after every achievement, every completed duty, and every moment of rest, renew your intention and strive again for the pleasure of your Lord. For in that striving lies true peace, lasting contentment, and the ultimate reward of Paradise. Let your life be a beautiful cycle of work and worship, each fueling the other, until you meet your Lord with a heart full of devotion and a record filled with good deeds.
