قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا كَانَ جُنْحُ اللَّيْلِ، أَوْ أَمْسَيْتُمْ، فَكُفُّوا صِبْيَانَكُمْ؛ فَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ تَنْتَشِرُ حِينَئِذٍ، فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ سَاعَةٌ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَخَلُّوهُمْ، وَأَغْلِقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ، وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ؛ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ بَابًا مُغْلَقًا، وَأَوْكُوا قِرَبَكُمْ، وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ، وَخَمِّرُوا آنِيَتَكُمْ، وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ، وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضُوا عَلَيْهَا شَيْئًا، وَأَطْفِئُوا مَصَابِيحَكُمْ (1).

🔤 Transliteration

Qaal an-nabiyyu sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam: idhaa kaana junhu al-layli aw amsaytum fakuffoo sibyaanakum fa inna ash-shayaateena tantashiru heena'idhin, fa idhaa dhahaba saa'atun min al-layli fakhalloohum wa aghliqoo al-abwaaba wadhkuroo isma Allah; fa inna ash-shaytaana la yaftahu baban mughlaqan, wa awkoo qirabakum wadhkuroo isma Allah, wa khammiroo aaniyatakum wadhkuroo isma Allah, wa law an ta'ridoo 'alayha shay'an, wa atfi'oo masaabeehakum.

🌐 English Translation

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When the night falls, or when you reach the evening, keep your children close, for the devils spread out at that time. When an hour of the night has passed, let them go. Close the doors and mention the name of Allah, for the devil does not open a closed door. Tie up your water skins and mention the name of Allah. Cover your vessels and mention the name of Allah, even if you just place something over them. And extinguish your lamps.
