Supplication for Travel - Hisn al-Muslim

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ (1).

🔤 Transliteration

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar (marrah wahidah).

🌐 English Translation

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest (once).

﴿سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقۡرِنِينَ ١٣ وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ ١٤۞} (1).﴾

🔤 Transliteration

Subhana alladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin. Wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun.

🌐 English Translation

Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could not have mastered it. And indeed, we are to our Lord returning.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى، وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى (1).

🔤 Transliteration

Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadha al-birra wa at-taqwa, wa minal 'amali ma tarda.

🌐 English Translation

O Allah, we ask You in this journey of ours for righteousness and piety, and for deeds that please You.

اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا، وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ، وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ، وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ، وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ وَالْأَهْلِ (1).

🔤 Transliteration

Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha, watwi 'anna bu'dahu. Allahumma anta as-sahibu fi as-safari, wal-khalifatu fi al-ahli. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'i as-safari, wa ka'abati al-manzari, wa su'i al-munqalabi fi al-mali wa al-ahli.

🌐 English Translation

O Allah, make this journey of ours easy for us, and fold up its distance for us. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey, and the Successor over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from a distressing scene, and from an ill return concerning wealth and family.

وإذا رَجَعَ قَالَهُنَّ وَزَادَ فِيـــــهِنَّ: آيِبُونَ، تَائِبُونَ، عَابِدُونَ، لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ (1).

🔤 Transliteration

Wa idha raja‘a qalahunna wa zada feehinna: Aa’iboona, taa’iboona, ‘aabidoona, li-rabbina haamidoon.

🌐 English Translation

And when he returns, he says them and adds: (We are) returning, repenting, worshipping, and to our Lord we are praising.
