Adhan (Call to Prayer) Remembrances - Hisn al-Muslim

يَقُولُ مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ إِلَّا فِي حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ فَيَقُولُ: لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ (1).

🔤 Transliteration

ya-kuulu mithla maa ya-kuulu al-mu-adh-dhi-nu il-laa fee hay-ya 'a-la as-sa-la-ti wa hay-ya 'a-la al-fa-la-hi fa-ya-kuulu: laa haw-la wa laa quw-wa-ta il-laa bil-laah

🌐 English Translation

He says the same as the Mu'adhdhin (the caller to prayer) says, except in 'Hayya 'alas-Salah' and 'Hayya 'alal-Falah', where he says: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (There is no might nor power except with Allah).

وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا(1) يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ عَقِبَ تَشَهُّدِ الْمُؤَذِّنِ(2).

🔤 Transliteration

Wa ana ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, wa anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh, radeetu billahi rabban, wa bi Muhammadin rasulan, wa bil Islami deenan. (Yaqoolu dhalika 'aqiba tashahhudi al-mu'adhdhin).

🌐 English Translation

And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as my Messenger, and with Islam as my religion. (He says this after the Mu'adhdhin's Tashahhud).

يُصَلِّي عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ فَرَاغِهِ مِنْ إِجَابَةِ الْمُؤَذِّنِ(1).

🔤 Transliteration

Yusalli 'ala an-Nabiyyi sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallama ba'da faraghihi min ijabati al-mu'adhdhin.

🌐 English Translation

He sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) after finishing responding to the Mu'adhdhin (the caller to prayer).

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ، وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ، [إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ] (1).

🔤 Transliteration

Allahumma Rabba hadhihid-da'watit-taammah, was-salaatil-qaa'imah, aati Muhammadan al-waseelata wal-fadeelah, wab'athhu maqaamam-mahmoodan alladhi wa'attah. [Innaka laa tukhliful-mee'aad].

🌐 English Translation

O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and established prayer, grant Muhammad the intercession and virtue, and raise him to the praised station which You have promised him. [Indeed, You do not break Your promise].

يَدْعُو لِنَفْسِهِ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ؛ فَإِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ حِينَئِذٍ لَا يُرَدُّ(1).

🔤 Transliteration

Yad'u li nafsihi bayna al-adhaani wa al-iqaamati; fa inna ad-du'aa'a heena'idhin laa yuraddu.

🌐 English Translation

He supplicates for himself between the Adhan and the Iqamah, for indeed the supplication at that time is not rejected.
