Evening Adhkar (Remembrances) - Hisn al-Muslim
﴿ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَيُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُۚ لَا تَأۡخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٞ وَلَا نَوۡمٞۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يَشۡفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚ يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَۚ وَسِعَ كُرۡسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفۡظُهُمَاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيُّ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ ٢٥٥ .﴾
Allahu la ilaha illa Huwa, Al-Hayyul-Qayyum. La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm. Lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard. Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnihi. Ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum. Wa la yuhituna bi shay'in min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'a. Wasi'a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal-ard. Wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma. Wa Huwal-'Aliyyul-'Adheem.
Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (255)
أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ: فَتْحَهَا وَنَصْرَهَا وَنُورَهَا وَبَرَكَتَهَا وَهُدَاهَا، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهَا (1).
Amsaynaa wa amsa al-mulku lillaahi rabbil-'aalameen. Allaahumma innee as'aluka khayra haadhihil-laylah: fataha wa nasraha wa nooraha wa barakataha wa hudaaha. Wa a'oodhu bika min sharri maa feeha wa sharri maa ba'daha.
We have entered the evening, and the dominion belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this night: its opening, its victory, its light, its blessings, and its guidance. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of what is in it and the evil of what comes after it.
أَمْسَيْنَا عَلَى فِطْرَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ، وَعَلَى كَلِمَةِ الْإِخْلَاصِ، وَعَلَى دِينِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ أَبِينَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ .
Amsaynaa 'alaa fitratil-islam, wa 'alaa kalimatil-ikhlaas, wa 'alaa deeni nabiyyinaa Muhammadin sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, wa 'alaa millati abeenaa Ibraaheema haneefan musliman wa maa kaana minal-mushrikeen.
We have entered the evening upon the fitrah of Islam, and upon the word of sincerity (La ilaha illallah), and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and upon the creed of our father Ibrahim, who was a monotheist, a Muslim, and he was not of the polytheists.
اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا، وَبِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا، وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ .
Allahumma bika amsayna, wa bika asbahna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namootu, wa ilayka al-maseer.
O Allah, by Your leave we have reached the evening, and by Your leave we have reached the morning, and by Your leave we live, and by Your leave we die, and to You is the final return.
أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهَا، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهَا، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ (1).
Amsaynaa wa amsa al-mulku lillah, wal-hamdu lillah, la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer. Rabbi as'aluka khayra ma fee hadhihil-laylati wa khayra ma ba'daha, wa a'oodhu bika min sharri ma fee hadhihil-laylati wa sharri ma ba'daha. Rabbi a'oodhu bika minal-kasali wa soo'il-kibar. Rabbi a'oodhu bika min 'adhabin fin-nari wa 'adhabin fil-qabr.
We have entered the evening and the dominion belongs to Allah, and praise is due to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him is all praise, and He is over all things competent. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this night and the good of what comes after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what comes after it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the misery of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ .
Allahumma anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika ma stata'tu, a'udhu bika min sharri ma sana'tu, abu'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa abu'u bidhanbi, faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta.
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no deity worthy of worship except You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I am upon Your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for indeed none forgives sins except You.
اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَمْسَى بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ .(1)
Allahumma ma amsa bi min ni'matin aw bi ahadin min khalqika faminka wahdaka la sharika lak, falakal-hamdu wa lakash-shukr.
O Allah, whatever blessing has come to me or to any of Your creation in this evening, it is from You alone, without partner. To You be all praise and to You be all gratitude.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ .
Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim.
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيًّا .
Radeetu billaahi Rabban, wa bil-Islaami deenan, wa bi-Muhammadin sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallama nabiyya.
I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as my Prophet.
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ (1).
A'udhu bi kalimatillah at-tammati min sharri ma khalaq.
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.
اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ .
Allahumma 'aafini fi badani, Allahumma 'aafini fi sam'i, Allahumma 'aafini fi basari, la ilaha illa anta. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-kufri wal-faqri, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabri, la ilaha illa anta.
O Allah, grant my body well-being. O Allah, grant my hearing well-being. O Allah, grant my sight well-being. There is no god but You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave. There is no god but You.
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ .
Hasbiyallahu la ilaha illa huwa, 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa rabbul 'arshil 'azim.
Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. In Him I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَايَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي، اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي، وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي، اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ، وَمِنْ خَلْفِي، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي، وَعَنْ شِمَالِي، وَمِنْ فَوْقِي، وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي .
Allahumma inni as'aluka al-'afwa wal-'afiyah fi ad-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'aluka al-'afwa wal-'afiyah fi deeni wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma ustur 'awrati, wa amin raw'ati. Allahumma ihfazni min bayni yadayya, wa min khalfi, wa 'an yamini, wa 'an shimali, wa min fawqi, wa a'udhu bi'azamatika an ughtala min tahti.
O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults, and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being struck from beneath me.
اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي، وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ، وَأَنْ أَقْتَرِفَ عَلَى نَفْسِي سُوءًا أَوْ أَجُرَّهُ إِلَى مُسْلِمٍ .
Allahumma 'aalimal-ghaybi wash-shahaadati, faatiras-samaawaati wal-ardi, rabba kulli shay'in wa maleekahu, ashhadu an laa ilaaha illaa anta, a'oodhu bika min sharri nafsi, wa min sharri ash-shaytaani wa shirkihi, wa an aqtarifa 'alaa nafsi soo'an aw ajurrahu ilaa muslim.
O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own soul, and from the evil of Satan and his polytheism, and from committing evil against myself or dragging it to a Muslim.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَمْسَيْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ، وَأُشْهِدُ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ، وَمَلَائِكَتَكَ، وَجَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ، أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ .(1)
Allahumma inni amsaytu ush-hiduka, wa ush-hidu hamalata 'arshika, wa mala'ikataka, wa jami'a khalqika, annaka antallahu la ilaha illa anta wahdaka la sharika laka, wa anna Muhammadan 'abduka wa rasuluka.
O Allah, I have entered the evening calling upon You, and upon the bearers of Your Throne, and upon Your angels, and upon all of Your creation, to bear witness that You are Allah, there is no deity worthy of worship except You alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Your Messenger.
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ .
Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyoom, bi-rahmatika astagheeth, aslih li sha'nee kullahu, wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'ayn.
O Ever-Living, O Self-Subsisting and Sustainer of all, by Your mercy I seek help. Rectify for me all my affairs, and do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye.
﴿قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ١ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ ٢ لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ ٣ وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ ٤ .﴾
Qul huwa Allahu ahad. Allahu-s-samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
﴿قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡفَلَقِ ١ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ٢ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ٣ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَٰتِ فِي ٱلۡعُقَدِ ٤ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ٥ .﴾
Qul a'udhu bi rabbil-falaq, min sharri ma khalaq, wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab, wa min sharrin-naffathati fil-'uqad, wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, From the evil of what He created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, And from the evil of the blowers in knots, And from the evil of an envier when he envies."
﴿قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ١ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٢ إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٣ مِن شَرِّ ٱلۡوَسۡوَاسِ ٱلۡخَنَّاسِ ٤ ٱلَّذِي يُوَسۡوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٥ مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ٦.﴾
Qul a'udhu birabbin-nas, malikin-nas, ilahin-nas, min sharri al-waswasil-khannas, alladhi yuwaswisu fi sudurin-nas, minal-jinnati wan-nas.
Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws, who whispers in the breasts of mankind, among jinn and mankind.'
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ .
Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi.
Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him.
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ .
Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayh
I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ (1).
Allahumma salli wa sallim 'ala nabiyyina Muhammad.
O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad.
