Morning Adhkar - Hisn al-Muslim
﴿ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَيُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُۚ لَا تَأۡخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٞ وَلَا نَوۡمٞۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يَشۡفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚ يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَۚ وَسِعَ كُرۡسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفۡظُهُمَاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيُّ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ ٢٥٥ (1).﴾
Allahu la ilaha illa Huwa, Al-Hayyul-Qayyum. La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm. Lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard. Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnih. Ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum. Wa la yuhituna bi-shay'in min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'. Wasi'a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal-ard. Wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma. Wa Huwal-'Aliyyul-'Adheem.
Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. [Quran 2:255]
﴿قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ١ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ ٢ لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ ٣ وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ ٤ (1).﴾
Qul huwa Allahu ahad. Allahu samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.
Say, 'He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent.'
﴿قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡفَلَقِ ١ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ٢ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ٣ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَٰتِ فِي ٱلۡعُقَدِ ٤ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ٥ (1).﴾
Qul a'udhu bi rabbil-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffathati fil-'uqad. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.
Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.' (1)
﴿قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ١ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٢ إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٣ مِن شَرِّ ٱلۡوَسۡوَاسِ ٱلۡخَنَّاسِ ٤ ٱلَّذِي يُوَسۡوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٥ مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ٦(1).﴾
Qul a'udhu birabbin-nas, malikin-nas, ilahin-nas, min sharri al-waswasil-khannas, alladhi yuwaswisu fee sudurin-nas, minal-jinnati wan-nas.
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer, Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind, From among the jinn and mankind."
أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ(1)، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ(2)، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ (3).
Asbahna wa asbahal mulku lillah, walhamdu lillah, la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Rabbi as'aluka khayra ma fi hadhal yawmi wa khayra ma ba'dah, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma fi hadhal yawmi wa sharri ma ba'dah. Rabbi a'udhu bika minal kasali wa su'il kibari. Rabbi a'udhu bika min 'adhabin finnari wa 'adhabin fil qabri.
We have entered the morning and the dominion belongs to Allah, and all praise is due to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things competent. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the misery of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.
اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا، وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا(1)، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا، وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ (2).
Allahumma bika asbahna, wa bika amsayna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namutu, wa ilayka an-nushur.
O Allah, by Your leave we have reached the morning, and by Your leave we have reached the evening, by Your leave we live, and by Your leave we die, and to You is the resurrection.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ(1) لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ (2).
Allahumma anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana abduka, wa ana ala ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu, a'udhu bika min sharri ma sana'tu, abu'u laka bini'matika alayya, wa abu'u bidhanbi, faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta.
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I am upon Your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for indeed none forgives sins except You.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَصْبَحْتُ (1) أُشْهِدُكَ، وَأُشْهِدُ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ، وَمَلَائِكَتَكَ، وَجَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ، أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ (2).
Allahumma inni asbahtu (1) ush-hiduka, wa ush-hidu hamalata 'arshika, wa mala'ikataka, wa jami'a khalqika, annaka anta Allahu la ilaha illa anta wahdaka la sharika laka, wa anna Muhammadan 'abduka wa rasuluka (2).
O Allah, I have entered the morning (1) calling upon You, and upon the bearers of Your Throne, and upon Your angels, and upon all of Your creation, to bear witness that You are Allah, there is no deity worthy of worship except You alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Your Messenger (2).
اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي(1) مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ (2).
Allahumma ma asbaha bi min ni'matin aw bi ahadin min khalqika faminka wahdaka la sharika lak, falakal-hamdu wa lakash-shukr.
O Allah, whatever blessing has come to me or to any of Your creation in this morning, it is from You alone, without partner. To You be all praise and to You be all gratitude.
اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ (1).
Allahumma 'aafini fi badani, Allahumma 'aafini fi sam'i, Allahumma 'aafini fi basari, la ilaha illa anta. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-kufri wal-faqri, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabri, la ilaha illa anta.
O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. O Allah, grant me well-being in my hearing. O Allah, grant me well-being in my sight. There is no god but You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is no god but You.
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ (1).
Hasbiyallahu la ilaha illa huwa, 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa rabbul 'arshil 'azim
Allah is sufficient for me. There is no deity except Him. Upon Him I rely, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَايَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي، اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي، وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي، اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ، وَمِنْ خَلْفِي، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي، وَعَنْ شِمَالِي، وَمِنْ فَوْقِي، وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي (1).
Allahumma inni as'aluka al-'afwa wal-'afiyah fi ad-dunya wal-akhirah, Allahumma inni as'aluka al-'afwa wal-'afiyah fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali, Allahumma sater 'awrati, wa amin raw'ati, Allahumma ihfazni min bayni yadayya, wa min khalfi, wa 'an yamini, wa 'an shimali, wa min fawqi, wa a'udhu bi 'azamatika an ughtala min tahti.
O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults, and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being struck from below me.
اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي، وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ، وَأَنْ أَقْتَرِفَ عَلَى نَفْسِي سُوءًا أَوْ أَجُرَّهُ إِلَى مُسْلِمٍ (1).
Allahumma 'Aalimal-ghaybi wash-shahaadati, Faatiras-samaawaati wal-ard, Rabba kulli shay'in wa Maleekah, Ashhadu an laa ilaaha illaa Ant, A'oodhu bika min sharri nafsi, wa min sharrish-shaytaani wa shirkih, wa an aqtarifa 'alaa nafsi soo'an aw ajurrahu ilaa Muslim.
O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own soul, and from the evil of Satan and his polytheism, and from committing evil against myself or bringing it upon a Muslim.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ (1).
Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'as-mihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim.
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing is harmed on earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيًّا (1).
Radeetu billaahi Rabban, wa bil-Islaami deenan, wa bi-Muhammadin sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallama nabiyya.
I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as my Prophet.
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ (1).
Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoomu, bi-rahmatika astagheethu, aslih lee sha'nee kullahu, wa laa takilnee ilaa nafsee tarfata 'ayn.
O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining, by Your mercy I seek help; rectify for me all my affairs, and do not entrust me to myself for the blink of an eye.
أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ: فَتْحَهُ وَنَصْرَهُ وَنُورَهُ وَبَرَكَتَهُ وَهُدَاهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيهِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ (1).
Asbahna wa asbaha al-mulku lillahi rabbil-'alameen. Allahumma inni as'aluka khayra hadha al-yawm: fatahahu wa nasrahu wa nurahu wa barakatahu wa hudahu. Wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma feehi wa sharri ma ba'dah.
We have entered the morning and the dominion belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this day: its conquest, its victory, its light, its blessing, and its guidance. And I seek refuge in You from the evil of what is in it and the evil of what comes after it.
أَصْبَحْنَا عَلَى فِطْرَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ(1)، وَعَلَى كَلِمَةِ الْإِخْلَاصِ، وَعَلَى دِينِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ أَبِينَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ (2).
Asbahnaa 'ala fitratil-islam, wa 'ala kalimatil-ikhlas, wa 'ala deeni nabiyyina Muhammadin sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, wa 'ala millati abina Ibrahima hanifan musliman wa ma kana minal-mushrikeen.
We have entered the morning upon the fitrah (natural disposition) of Islam, and upon the word of sincere devotion (La ilaha illallah), and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and upon the creed of our father Ibrahim, who was a monotheist, a Muslim, and he was not of the polytheists.
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ (1).
Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi (1).
Glory and praise be to Allah (once).
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ (1) (2).
La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir
There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent.
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ (1).
La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer
There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent.
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ، وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ (1).
Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi 'adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinata 'arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi.
Glory and praise be to Allah, as numerous as His creation, as much as His pleasure, as heavy as His Throne, and as vast as the ink of His words.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا (1).
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and accepted deeds.
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ (1).
Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayh (1).
I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him (1).
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَحْدَهُ، وَالصَّلاَةُ وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَى مَنْ لاَ نَبِيَّ بَعْدَهُ (1)
Al-hamdu lillahi wahdah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala man la nabiyya ba'dah.
All praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ (1).
Allahumma salli wa sallim 'ala nabiyyina Muhammad (1).
O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad (1).
