Supplication when closing the eyes of the deceased - Hisn al-Muslim

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِفُلَانٍ (بِاسْمِهِ) وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَتَهُ فِي الْمَهْدِيِّينَ، وَاخْلُفْهُ فِي عَقِبِهِ فِي الْغَابِرِينَ، وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلَهُ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ، وَافْسَحْ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ، وَنَوِّرْ لَهُ فِيهِ (1).

🔤 Transliteration

Allahumma-ghfir li [fulaan] (bi-ismihi) warfa' darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeen, wakhlufhu fee 'aqibihi fil-ghaabireen, waghfir lana wa lahu yaa Rabbal-'aalameen, wafsah lahu fee qabrihi, wa nawwir lahu feeh.

🌐 English Translation

O Allah, forgive [name], and raise his rank among those who are guided, and take care of his offspring among those who remain, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds, and expand his grave for him, and illuminate it for him.
