Explanation of the Verse:
On that awesome Day, all of humanity—from the first to the last—will be presented before your Lord, O Messenger, standing in orderly rows, not a single soul concealed or overlooked. Every eye will be fixed, every heart pounding, as the scene of ultimate justice unfolds. Then, the rebuke will come: "You have come to Us just as We created you the first time—alone, barefoot, naked, with no wealth, no children, no status, and no intercessor to protect you. You left behind everything you clung to in the worldly life."
This statement shatters the illusions of the arrogant who thought their power, riches, or lineage would accompany them. Nothing accompanies you except your deeds. And then the second part of the rebuke: "But you claimed that We would never appoint for you a time and place for reckoning." You denied the resurrection, you mocked the promise of accountability, and you lived as if this meeting would never occur. Now, the promise has been fulfilled, and the meeting has come to pass.
This verse is a profound call to self-reflection. It reminds every soul that the journey back to Allah is inevitable, and the return will be exactly as the departure was—alone and stripped of all worldly attachments. The One who created you from nothing is absolutely capable of bringing you back. Do not let the whispers of doubt or the distractions of this life make you forget that the appointment with your Lord is certain. Prepare for that Day now, while you still have the chance, by turning to Allah in sincere repentance, performing righteous deeds, and placing your trust in His mercy and justice. For on that Day, nothing will avail you except your faith and your actions.
