Surah Al-Baqarah — Verse 209

O believers, if you slip and deviate from the path of truth after the clear proofs have already reached you—after the Qur'an has been revealed, after the Prophet (peace be upon him) has conveyed the message, and after the signs of Allah's oneness and wisdom have become manifest—then know with certainty that Allah is 'Aziz (Mighty, Dominant over all things, and fully capable of seizing you in His power) and Hakim (All-Wise, who places everything in its proper station, and who does not punish except with perfect justice and profound purpose).

This verse serves as a grave warning: deviation after knowledge is far more severe than ignorance. When the truth has been made crystal clear, turning away from it is not a minor mistake—it is a deliberate straying that invites Allah's might and wisdom to act.
