Explanation of the Verse:
O Children of Israel, remember and reflect upon the great favor We bestowed upon you when We rescued you from the grip of Pharaoh and his people. They were subjecting you to the harshest and most humiliating forms of punishment: they slaughtered your sons mercilessly, fearing that a male child among you might grow to challenge their power, and they spared your daughters only to keep them alive in a state of servitude, disgrace, and degradation. This was their relentless strategy to weaken you, break your spirit, and erase your dignity.
In all of this—both the severe affliction you endured and the magnificent deliverance We granted you—there was a tremendous trial from your Lord. It was a test of your patience in hardship and your gratitude in relief. Your salvation from such oppression was a monumental blessing that demanded your thankfulness and obedience, not just in that moment, but across all generations to come.
A Call to Reflection and Gratitude:
This verse is a timeless reminder that Allah never abandons His believing servants, no matter how overwhelming the oppression may seem. Just as He rescued the Children of Israel from the depths of Pharaoh’s tyranny, He is capable of delivering you from every hardship you face today. So, when trials come your way, know that they are a test from your Lord—a test that purifies you, raises your ranks, and draws you closer to Him. And when relief arrives, let it be met with sincere gratitude, for gratitude opens the doors of even greater blessings. Let your heart be filled with hope, for after every difficulty comes ease, and after every dark night, the dawn of Allah’s mercy breaks through.
