- Tawakkul (تَوَكَّلْ): To place complete trust and reliance upon someone, entrusting all affairs to them.
- Sabbih (سَبِّحْ): To declare Allah free from all imperfections, deficiencies, and anything unbefitting His majesty.
- Bihamdihi (بِحَمْدِهِ): Combining glorification with praise — acknowledging His perfection while praising Him for His blessings.
- Khabīr (خَبِيرًا): The All-Aware, the One whose knowledge encompasses everything, including the most hidden secrets.
Tafsir (Explanation):
O Prophet, place your complete trust and reliance upon Allah alone — the Ever-Living who never dies, the One whose life is perfect and eternal, unlike the life of any created being that will eventually come to an end. He alone is worthy of your trust, for He is the One who sustains all existence and never changes or passes away. All other things you might lean upon will perish, but He remains forever.
And glorify Him with His praise — declare Him free from every imperfection, deficiency, or weakness, and combine this glorification with gratitude and praise for His countless blessings. This glorification is also a means of drawing closer to Him and finding tranquility in His remembrance.
Then comes a profound reassurance and a solemn warning: Allah alone is sufficient as the All-Aware of His servants' sins — nothing escapes His knowledge, whether hidden in the depths of hearts or committed openly. He knows every deed, every intention, and every secret. This is both a comfort to the believers, who know that their Lord sees their struggles and will reward them, and a warning to the sinners, who should know that no sin is hidden from Him and that they will be held accountable.
A Call to the Reader:
Dear believer, let this verse be a source of strength for you. When the world weighs heavily upon your shoulders, when people disappoint you, and when you feel alone in your struggles — remember that you have a Lord who is Ever-Living and never dies. Place your trust in Him, for He will never let you down. Glorify Him with your tongue and your heart, and let His praise fill your life with light. And never forget that He sees everything — so live your life with the awareness that you are always in His sight, which will protect you from sin and draw you closer to His pleasure. This is the path of true success in this life and the Hereafter.
