Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Khālidīna fīhā: Abiding eternally in it (the curse and the Fire).
  • Lā yukhaffafu ʿanhum al-ʿadhāb: The punishment will not be lightened or reduced for them in the least.
  • Wa lā hum yunẓarūn: They will not be granted any respite or delay — neither for apology nor for repentance.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse describes the permanent state of those who turn away from the truth after it has been made clear to them, and who persist in disbelief and hypocrisy. They will remain forever in the curse of Allah and in the torment of Hellfire, never to leave it. Their punishment will never be reduced — not even for a single moment — to give them relief or rest. Nor will they be granted any delay or opportunity to offer excuses, to repent, or to make amends. Both avenues of escape — easing of punishment and postponement of judgment — are completely sealed off from them. There is no respite, no intermission, and no second chance. The severity of their torment is constant and unrelenting, and their despair is absolute.

A Daʿwah Reflection:

This verse serves as a profound warning about the consequences of rejecting the truth after it has been clearly presented. It reminds us that Allah’s mercy is vast and His doors of repentance remain open in this life — but they will be closed forever in the Hereafter. How fortunate are those who seize the opportunity now, while the door of forgiveness is still wide open! Every breath we take is a chance to turn back to Allah, to seek His pardon, and to reform our hearts. Do not wait until the moment when no delay will be granted and no excuse will be accepted. Let this verse inspire you to rush towards Allah’s mercy today, for He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful — and His acceptance of repentance is far greater than any sin you may have committed. The Qur’an calls you to a life of peace and salvation; answer that call before the appointed time arrives.

📜 Verse 86-90 — Aal-Imran

How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
Those - their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allah and the angels and the people, all together,
Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.
Except for those who repent after that and correct themselves. For indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Indeed, those who reject the message after their belief and then increase in disbelief - never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray.
