Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

(As-Sa'ah): The Hour – the Day of Resurrection and Judgment.
(Bala): Yes, indeed – a emphatic affirmation used to negate a preceding denial.
  • عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ ('Alim Al-Ghayb): The Knower of the Unseen – the One whose knowledge encompasses all that is hidden and beyond human perception.
(Ya'zubu): To be absent, hidden, or to escape from someone's knowledge or awareness.
(Mithqal Dharratin): The weight of a small ant – the tiniest, most insignificant measure imaginable.
(Kitabin Mubin): A clear, explicit Book – referring to the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz).

Tafsir (Explanation):

The disbelievers, in their arrogance and denial, mockingly declared: "The Hour will never come to us!" They rejected the resurrection, thinking that life is only this world and that there is no reckoning after death. But Allah commanded His Prophet ﷺ to respond with a decisive and solemn oath: "Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you!"

This is a powerful affirmation – swearing by the Lord Himself that the Hour is inevitable. The One who makes this promise is the Knower of the Unseen, the One whose knowledge encompasses everything that exists, whether in the heavens or on the earth. Nothing escapes His awareness – not even the weight of a tiny ant, nor anything smaller or larger than that. Everything is recorded in a clear Book, the Preserved Tablet, where all matters are written with perfect precision.

This verse carries a profound message for every soul: the Hour is certain, and Allah's knowledge is absolute. He knows every deed, every intention, and every hidden secret. Nothing is lost or forgotten in His sight. The very fact that He knows all things – from the smallest particle to the greatest celestial bodies – is a guarantee that He will bring about the resurrection and hold every soul accountable for what it has done.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, reflect on this magnificent truth: the same Allah who knows the weight of an ant in the darkest depths of the earth is the One who has promised you the Hour. If His knowledge encompasses all things, then surely He will not neglect your deeds – whether good or evil. This should fill your heart with both hope and caution. Hope, because your sincere efforts and good deeds are recorded and will be rewarded generously with forgiveness and a noble provision – Paradise. Caution, because nothing you do is hidden from Him, and every action will be brought to light.

The disbelievers denied the Hour out of ignorance and arrogance, but the believer embraces it with certainty. Let this verse strengthen your faith and remind you that the Hereafter is not a distant myth – it is a reality that will surely come. Prepare for it with sincere repentance, righteous deeds, and unwavering trust in the One who knows all and promises justice and mercy. Indeed, the promise of Allah is true, and His knowledge leaves nothing unaccounted for.

📜 Verse 1-5 — Saba

[All] praise is [due] to Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and to Him belongs [all] praise in the Hereafter. And He is the Wise, the Acquainted.
He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein. And He is the Merciful, the Forgiving.
But those who disbelieve say, "The Hour will not come to us." Say, "Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [Allah is] the Knower of the unseen." Not absent from Him is an atom's weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register -
That He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. Those will have forgiveness and noble provision.
But those who strive against Our verses [seeking] to cause failure - for them will be a painful punishment of foul nature.
