Translation — Tafsir

  • Rahmah (رَحْمَةٍ): Mercy, blessing, or any form of divine favor—including provision, rain, health, guidance, and knowledge.
  • Mumsik (مُمْسِكَ): One who withholds, restrains, or prevents.
  • Yumsik (يُمْسِكْ): He withholds or retains.
  • Mursil (مُرْسِلَ): One who sends or releases.
  • Al-Aziz (الْعَزِيزُ): The Almighty, the All-Powerful, the Invincible—the One whose will none can overcome.
  • Al-Hakim (الْحَكِيمُ): The All-Wise, the One who acts with perfect wisdom and precision in all His decrees.

Tafsir (Explanation):

The keys to all good things lie solely in the Hands of Allah Almighty. Whatever mercy He opens for people—whether it be abundant provision, healing rain, sound health, beneficial knowledge, or the greatest blessing of all, guidance to faith and righteousness—no power on earth or in the heavens can prevent it from reaching them. Not even the combined forces of all creation could hold back a single drop of His bounty once He has decreed it to flow.

And conversely, whatever mercy He withholds—whether it be rain that does not fall, wealth that does not come, or a heart that remains closed to guidance—then no one, after His withholding, can release it. No king, no ruler, no intermediary, no matter how mighty or influential, can force open what Allah has closed. The doors of mercy open and shut by His command alone, and every creature stands utterly dependent upon His will.

This is why the believer's heart turns to Allah alone in times of need, and never places its hope in created beings. For even if all of humanity gathered together to benefit you, they could not benefit you with anything except what Allah has already written for you. And if they gathered to harm you, they could not harm you with anything except what Allah has already decreed against you. The pens have been lifted, and the pages have dried.

And He is Al-Aziz—the Almighty, the Invincible, whose power is absolute and whose decree no one can challenge or reverse. What He holds back, no force in existence can unleash; what He grants, no obstacle can block. He is also Al-Hakim—the All-Wise, who sends mercy and withholds it according to His perfect knowledge and wisdom. He knows what is best for His servants, even when they do not. Sometimes withholding is itself a mercy, and sometimes granting is a test. In all His actions, there is profound wisdom that the human mind may not fully comprehend, but which is always just, always good, and always for the ultimate benefit of His creation.

So, dear believer, let this verse fill your heart with tranquility and trust. When you ask, ask only of Him. When you fear loss, know that no one can take what He has given. And when you face hardship, remember that His wisdom is greater than your understanding, and His mercy encompasses all things. Turn to Him with humility, hope, and complete reliance—for He alone holds the keys to every blessing, and He alone is worthy of your love and devotion.

📜 Verse 1-4 — Fatir

[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, [who] made the angels messengers having wings, two or three or four. He increases in creation what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
Whatever Allah grants to people of mercy - none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds - none can release it thereafter. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?
And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - already were messengers denied before you. And to Allah are returned [all] matters.
