Surah As-Saffat — Verse 108

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse is part of the narrative of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham, peace be upon him), where Allah mentions the great honor He bestowed upon His beloved prophet. After mentioning how Ibrahim was saved from the fire, given victory over his enemies, and blessed with righteous offspring, Allah now adds another immense blessing: "And We left for him [a good reputation] among the later generations."

This means that Allah preserved for Ibrahim a beautiful and lasting remembrance among all nations that came after him. His name is mentioned with praise, love, and reverence by followers of all divine religions—Jews, Christians, and Muslims—and indeed, by all who know his story. If you strive to live a life of faith, honesty, kindness, and devotion to Allah, He may grant you a beautiful remembrance among people and, more importantly, His eternal pleasure. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him." (Muslim). So, invest in what truly lasts—your relationship with Allah and your service to His creation—and trust that Allah will honor you in ways you cannot imagine, just as He honored His friend Ibrahim.
