Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Salāmun (سَلَامٌ): Peace, safety, and security; a greeting of well-being and freedom from all harm and deficiency.
- ʿAlā (عَلَىٰ): Upon.
- Ibrāhīm (إِبْرَاهِيمَ): Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him), the beloved friend of Allah (Khalīlullāh) and the father of the prophets.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse is a divine salutation and a noble tribute from Allah Almighty to His Prophet Ibrāhīm (peace be upon him). It is a greeting of peace and safety, meaning: "Peace and security be upon Ibrāhīm from every harm, defect, and affliction."
