Tafsir (Explanation):
The polytheists of Makkah, in their stubbornness and denial, accused the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) of fabricating lies against Allah — claiming that he invented the Qur'an himself and attributed it to his Lord. They said this despite the miraculous nature of the Qur'an, its eloquence, its profound wisdom, and its undeniable truth.
Allah responds to their accusation with a powerful rebuttal: If the Prophet had truly fabricated such a lie, then Allah — who knows all things and controls all affairs — could easily have sealed his heart, causing him to forget the Qur'an entirely and preventing him from continuing with his message. The very fact that the Prophet continued to receive revelation, that the Qur'an remained preserved in his heart, and that he never wavered in conveying it, is clear proof that he was not a liar but a truthful messenger receiving divine revelation.
Allah then declares His decisive action in this cosmic struggle between truth and falsehood: He will wipe out falsehood completely and establish the truth through His words. His words never change, His promises never fail, and His decree always prevails. Indeed, history bears witness to this — the falsehood of the polytheists was erased, their idols were shattered, and the light of Islam spread across the earth.
Finally, Allah reminds us that He is fully aware of what lies within every heart. He knows the intentions of the accusers, the sincerity of the Prophet, and the faith of the believers. Nothing is hidden from Him — not a single thought, not a single secret, not a single whisper of the soul.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear reader, reflect on the profound wisdom in this verse. The Qur'an is not the product of human imagination — it is the word of the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Its preservation, its eloquence, its scientific truths, and its transformative power all testify that it comes from Allah alone. When you read the Qur'an, you are reading the direct speech of your Lord — a conversation between the Creator and His creation. Open your heart to it, and you will find in it guidance, light, and the answers to every question your soul seeks. Let this verse strengthen your certainty that truth always prevails, falsehood always perishes, and Allah's promise is always true. Embrace the Qur'an with love and sincerity, and let it be your companion in this life and your intercessor in the next.
