Surah Al-Waqi'ah — Verse 39

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse describes the blessed people of the Right Hand (Ashab al-Yameen) — those who will receive their records in their right hand on the Day of Judgment and will be granted salvation and honor. Allah tells us that among them is a great multitude from the earlier nations — meaning the righteous believers from the time of Adam (peace be upon him) up to the nations that preceded the final Messenger. These are the prophets' followers, the truthful ones, the martyrs, and the pious from every community that believed in their messengers and worshipped Allah alone.

This is a profound source of hope and comfort. It shows that the mercy of Allah is vast and inclusive — that salvation is not limited to one people or one era, but rather it encompasses all who sincerely believed and did righteous deeds throughout human history. The "earlier ones" include the followers of Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa (peace be upon them all), as well as all the righteous souls who came before the final revelation.
