Surah Al-Waqi'ah — Verse 93

Tafsir (Explanation):

This verse describes the fate of those who denied the resurrection and strayed from the path of guidance. When such a person dies and is brought to the Hereafter, their very first reception — the hospitality prepared for them as they arrive — is not a warm welcome of honor, but a horrifying one: boiling water of extreme, unbearable heat. This is the "nuzul" — the first thing presented to them, just as a host presents the first meal to an honored guest. But for these deniers, the first thing they are served is *hamim*: scalding water that melts the internal organs due to its intense temperature. This is their opening experience in the afterlife — a foretaste of the severe punishment that awaits them in the blazing Fire, where they will be burned and made to endure the most agonizing torment.

A Call to Reflection:

Imagine being a guest, exhausted and thirsty, and being handed a cup of water so hot it burns your insides — that is the first "welcome" for those who turned away from their Creator. But Allah, in His infinite mercy, has opened the door of repentance for every soul until the moment of death. He does not wish to punish anyone; rather, He sent His messengers and His Book to guide humanity to safety. The choice is yours: will you be among those who receive the generous hospitality of Paradise — rivers of milk, honey, and pure water that never spoil — or the scorching reception of boiling water? The Quran is not a story of fear alone; it is a call to wake up, to return to Allah, and to secure a reception of eternal bliss. Do not delay, for the journey is nearer than you think.
