Translation — Tafsir

Key Words and Their Meanings:

  • Al-Mukadhdhibin (الْمُكَذِّبِينَ): Those who deny the truth, specifically the denial of the Resurrection and the message brought by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
  • Ad-Dallin (الضَّالِّينَ): Those who have gone astray from the path of guidance and righteousness—the deviators from the straight path of Allah.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse continues the description of the fate of souls at the moment of death and in the Hereafter. After mentioning the honored and blessed state of those who are near to Allah and the people of the right hand, Allah now turns to the third category: the deniers and the astray.

If the dying person is among those who rejected the truth—who denied the Resurrection, the Messenger, and the revelation—and who wandered away from the straight path of guidance, then their end is utterly grim. Their "hospitality" upon arrival into the next life is not a generous welcome but a reception of scalding, boiling water—a drink that tears apart their insides—and they are cast into the blazing Fire, where they will suffer its severe torment. This is the just recompense for a life spent in denial and deviation, a painful contrast to the bliss promised to the believers.

A Call to Reflection:

Dear reader, pause and reflect on the justice and mercy of your Lord. He has not hidden the consequences from you; He has laid them out clearly so that you may choose wisely. The One who created you did not leave you without guidance—He sent messengers, revealed books, and made the path of truth evident. The choice is yours, and the outcome is certain. Do not let a moment of heedlessness rob you of an eternity of peace. Turn to your Lord now, embrace the truth, and save yourself from a hospitality of boiling water and fire. The door of repentance is open, and His mercy is vast—do not delay, for the soul's departure is nearer than you think.

And if he was of the companions of the right,

Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."
92وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ
