Explanation of the Verse:
This verse concludes Surah At-Taghabun with two of Allah’s most magnificent attributes, serving as a seal of divine perfection. Allah declares Himself to be the Knower of both the unseen and the witnessed. Nothing escapes His knowledge—not the whisper of a soul, not the fall of a leaf, not the secrets hidden in the depths of the oceans, nor the thoughts that pass through your mind at this very moment. He knows what was, what is, and what will be, and He knows the unseen realms that no creature can ever perceive. At the same time, He is fully aware of everything that is visible and apparent to us—every action, every word, every movement in the universe.
Then Allah describes Himself as Al-ʿAzīz, the Almighty who is never overpowered. His might is absolute and unchallenged. No one can thwart His will, no one can escape His grasp, and no one can stand against His decree. When He wills something, it simply comes to be. And He is Al-Ḥakīm, the All-Wise, in all His commands, His creations, His legislation, and His divine decree. Everything He does is rooted in perfect wisdom, even if the human mind cannot always grasp it. His wisdom is manifest in the balance of the universe, in the precision of His laws, and in the justice of His judgment.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear believer, reflect on this verse and let it fill your heart with awe and tranquility. The One who knows your hidden struggles, your silent prayers, and the secrets you carry in your chest is the same One who is All-Powerful and All-Wise. He sees your efforts when no one else does, and He knows your sincerity when you worship Him in private. So turn to Him with complete trust, for He is the Almighty who can change your circumstances in an instant, and He is the All-Wise who knows exactly what is best for you. Let this knowledge draw you closer to Him, increase your reliance upon Him, and fill you with hope—for the One who knows all and has power over all is surely worthy of your love, your obedience, and your devotion.
