Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse poses a powerful rhetorical question that leaves no room for doubt: *"Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or denies His signs?"* The answer is self-evident — no one. There is no greater oppression than to attribute falsehood to the Creator of the heavens and the earth, whether by claiming He has a partner, a son, or by fabricating laws and sayings in His name. Equally oppressive is the rejection of His clear signs — the verses of the Qur'an, the miracles of His prophets, and the undeniable evidence of His existence and oneness in creation.
The verse then delivers a decisive verdict: *"Indeed, the criminals will never succeed."* This is not merely a statement of worldly failure, but a comprehensive declaration that encompasses both this life and the Hereafter. Those who persist in fabrication and denial will not attain true success — neither the peace of a guided heart, nor the victory of divine support, nor the eternal bliss of Paradise. Their schemes may appear to prosper temporarily, but their end is loss and ruin.
This verse carries a profound lesson for every soul: the path to success lies in truthfulness — truthfulness about Allah, about His signs, and about His messengers. The one who sincerely seeks the truth will find it in the Qur'an and the authentic teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). But the one who turns away, inventing lies or rejecting the truth when it reaches him, has chosen a path that leads nowhere but to disappointment.
Dear reader, reflect on this: Allah, in His infinite mercy, has sent down a Book that guides to the straight path, and sent messengers who exemplified that guidance. The greatest injustice is to meet this blessing with denial or distortion. Yet the door of repentance remains open — for Allah forgives all sins for those who turn back to Him sincerely. Do not let pride or stubbornness keep you from the truth. Embrace it, and you will taste the sweetness of true success — success that no criminal, no matter how powerful, can ever achieve.
