Surah An-Nas — Verse 3

• Ilah (إِلَٰهِ): The deity, the one who is worshipped with love, reverence, and submission. It refers to the only being deserving of worship and devotion.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse describes Allah as "the God of mankind" — the One who alone deserves to be worshipped by all people. He is the true deity, the only being who has the right to receive prayers, supplication, and acts of worship. No one else — whether human, jinn, angel, or any created thing — shares this right with Him. Every act of worship directed to anyone other than Allah is false and invalid, because only Allah is the true God, the Creator, the Sustainer, and the Sovereign of all that exists.

The verse comes as a continuation of the previous ones, emphasizing that Allah is not only the Lord (Rab) who creates, sustains, and manages the affairs of all creation, but He is also the Ilah — the One whom hearts naturally incline to, love, and worship.
