Tafsir (Explanation):
When the righteous—those who fear Allah and strive to obey Him—are asked, "What has your Lord revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)?" they answer with certainty and conviction: "He has revealed what is entirely good—guidance, mercy, and light." Unlike the disbelievers who dismiss the revelation as mere tales of the ancients, the God-fearing recognize it as the ultimate source of goodness and salvation.
For those who excel in their deeds in this worldly life—perfecting their faith, performing righteous acts, and treating others with kindness and fairness—Allah has promised a beautiful reward in this very world. This includes victory over falsehood, contentment of the heart, provision from unexpected sources, and a life of tranquility and blessing. Yet, the reward of the Hereafter is far greater and more enduring. What awaits them in Paradise—eternal gardens beneath which rivers flow, the pleasure of Allah, and everlasting bliss—surpasses every joy and comfort of this fleeting world. Indeed, excellent is the final abode of the God-fearing!
A Call to Reflection:
This verse paints a vivid picture of two responses to the divine message. The disbelievers, when asked about the revelation, belittle it and turn away. But the believers—whose hearts are alive with faith—answer with love and affirmation, declaring that their Lord has sent down nothing but good. Their answer is not merely words; it is reflected in their lives, their patience, and their hope in Allah's promise.
Dear reader, this is an invitation to be among those who excel in goodness. Every act of kindness, every prayer offered sincerely, every word of truth spoken with courage—all of it is seen by Allah, and He never lets a single good deed go to waste. The reward in this world may come as peace of heart, barakah in provision, or protection from harm. But the ultimate prize is Paradise, a home so magnificent that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart can imagine.
So, let your answer to the question "What has your Lord revealed?" be one of conviction and joy. Embrace the Quran as your guide, live by its teachings, and excel in your deeds. For the abode of the Hereafter is truly the best—a home prepared for those who fear Allah and do good. May Allah make us among them.
