Word Meanings:

  • لِنُرِيَكَ (Linuriyaka): So that We may show you.
  • مِنْ آيَاتِنَا (Min Ayatina): Of Our signs or miracles.
  • الْكُبْرَى (Al-Kubra): The greatest, the most magnificent.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse comes as the concluding statement of a series of divine miracles granted to Prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him). Allah had just commanded him to cast down his staff, which turned into a moving serpent, and to place his hand under his armpit, which came out shining white without any harm. These were not random acts of magic but deliberate, purposeful signs.

The meaning here is: "We did all of this—transforming the staff and illuminating the hand—so that We might show you, O Musa, some of Our greatest signs and proofs." These miracles were not merely for amazement; they were evidence of Allah's absolute power and clear confirmation that Musa was a true messenger sent to Pharaoh and his people. The staff and the radiant hand were among the most profound of Allah's signs, demonstrating that He alone controls all of creation—He can make the lifeless move, and He can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

This verse carries a deep lesson: Allah grants His chosen servants miracles not for their own pride, but to establish the truth of their mission and to strengthen their hearts. For Musa, these signs were the beginning of a monumental task—confronting the greatest tyrant of his time, Pharaoh, who claimed divinity. Through these signs, Allah was preparing Musa, reassuring him that the One who controls the staff and the hand is the same One who controls all affairs, and that no power on earth can stand against His will.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Beloved reader, ponder this verse and see how Allah, in His infinite wisdom, equipped His prophet with visible, undeniable proofs. These signs were not just for Musa—they are a timeless reminder for all of us. If Allah can turn a dry stick into a living serpent and make a hand shine like pure light, then nothing in this universe is beyond His capability. He who created the heavens and the earth, who gives life and takes it away, is fully able to answer your prayers, relieve your distress, and guide your heart.

So, when you face trials in your life, remember the power of the One who showed Musa the greatest signs. Turn to Him with sincerity, for He is the same Lord who said, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you" (Ghafir 40:60). The miracles of the past are not merely stories—they are living proofs that Allah is always near, always capable, and always ready to support those who believe in Him and trust in His promise. Let your heart find peace in His power, and let your tongue be busy with His remembrance, for He is the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
