  • Al-Khabithin (الْخَبِيثِينَ): The impure and evil men.

  • Rizqun Karim (رِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ): A generous and honorable provision — referring to Paradise.

Tafsir (Explanation):

This noble verse establishes a profound divine principle of compatibility and harmony: evil and impure things naturally belong with evil people, and evil people are drawn to evil things. Likewise, pure and good things belong with good people, and good people are drawn to what is pure and good. This is not merely a social observation — it is a universal law set by Allah in the fabric of creation. Wicked words, slander, and obscene accusations are only uttered or embraced by those whose hearts are equally wicked. Conversely, wholesome speech, chastity, and honorable conduct are the natural fruits of pure souls.

The verse was revealed in the context of the slanderous accusation against Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The hypocrites spread vile rumors about her, but Allah declared her absolute innocence. The pure are far above the filth of false accusations — they are not merely cleared of blame, but are completely detached from such wickedness by their very nature.

Then comes the beautiful promise: "Those — they are declared innocent of what they say. For them is forgiveness and a generous provision." The pure-hearted believers, especially those falsely accused, receive two magnificent gifts from Allah: complete forgiveness that erases their sins, and a generous, honorable provision — which is Paradise, where they will dwell eternally in bliss.

A Call to Reflection:

Dear reader, this verse carries a timeless message of hope and justice. If you are ever wronged by false words, know that Allah sees your truth and will defend you. Your purity is not diminished by the accusations of the impure — rather, their words only expose their own state. Hold fast to goodness, guard your tongue from evil speech, and trust that Allah pairs every soul with what truly befits it. The pure are promised forgiveness and Paradise — so strive to be among them, and let your words and deeds be a reflection of a heart that loves what is pure and shuns what is corrupt.

📜 Verse 24-28 — An-Nur

On a Day when their tongues, their hands and their feet will bear witness against them as to what they used to do.
That Day, Allah will pay them in full their deserved recompense, and they will know that it is Allah who is the perfect in justice.
Evil words are for evil men, and evil men are [subjected] to evil words. And good words are for good men, and good men are [an object] of good words. Those [good people] are declared innocent of what the slanderers say. For them is forgiveness and noble provision.
O you who have believed, do not enter houses other than your own houses until you ascertain welcome and greet their inhabitants. That is best for you; perhaps you will be reminded.
And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, "Go back," then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do.
