Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Khālidīna fīhā: Abiding therein forever, never to leave or die.
- Ḥasunat: How excellent, beautiful, and perfect it is.
- Mustaqarr: A place of settlement, where one finds rest and tranquility.
- Muqām: A place of permanent residence, where one stays eternally.
Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse concludes the description of the blessed servants of the Most Merciful—those who embody the noble qualities mentioned in the preceding verses: humility, prayer, avoidance of falsehood, reflection on Allah’s signs, sincere supplication, moderation in spending, purity from sin, and repentance. For all of this, they are rewarded with the highest abodes of Paradise, not by their own merit alone, but by the vast mercy of their Lord and through their patient perseverance in obedience.
They will enter Paradise and remain there eternally—never tasting death, never experiencing weariness, and never wishing to leave. The verse praises this abode as *ḥasunat mustaqarran wa muqām*: how perfect it is as a resting place where hearts find peace, and how excellent it is as a permanent residence where joy knows no end. Unlike the fleeting pleasures of this world, which are mixed with toil and anxiety, this is a station of complete fulfillment—a home where every desire is satisfied, every fear is removed, and every soul is greeted with the salutations of angels: "Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. Excellent is the final home!" (Ar-Ra'd 13:24).
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, pause and ponder this magnificent promise. Allah, the Creator of all that exists, is telling you that He has prepared a dwelling of eternal bliss for those who strive to know Him, worship Him sincerely, and live by His guidance. This is not a distant myth or an unattainable dream—it is a reality guaranteed by the One who never breaks His word. The path to this reward is open to you right now: it begins with a sincere turn to Allah, a commitment to His commands, and a heart that longs for His pleasure. Every act of patience, every word of truth, every tear of repentance is a step closer to that blessed abode. So let your heart yearn for it, let your deeds seek it, and let your hope in Allah’s mercy never fade—for He has made the road clear and the destination glorious. Will you not be among those who are told, "Enter it in peace; this is the day of eternity"?
